A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Marion County, including Hamilton, effective immediately as of October 9 at 10:17 AM CDT by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL. Tropical storm-force winds are expected within the next 36 hours.
Residents in Hamilton should complete preparations now before hazardous winds begin. Peak wind forecasts are between 15-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Potential impacts include damage to unanchored structures, broken tree limbs, and scattered power outages. Hazardous driving conditions are possible, particularly on bridges and elevated roadways.
