Residents in Vilas, Forest, Florence, and Northern Marinette counties must take immediate action to protect sensitive plants and outdoor plumbing. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Green Bay has issued a Freeze Warning effective until 7 AM CDT on Saturday, October 3.
Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 degrees Fahrenheit are expected. These conditions pose a risk of killing crops and other sensitive vegetation, and could also damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
The NWS Green Bay advises taking steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. The Freeze Warning began at 9:29 PM CDT on October 2 and will remain in effect until 7 AM CDT on October 3.
