At the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City, our youth sports programs are where kids build confidence, learn teamwork, and grow through positive experiences on and off the field. Youth sports at the Y are about more than just playing the game. They’re about helping kids grow in spirit, mind, and body while learning values like caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Families also benefit from opportunities to get involved as coaches, team parents, and volunteers, helping create meaningful experiences and lasting memories together. “What makes youth sports at the Y special is that it’s not just about athletics. It’s about helping kids grow into confident, caring individuals,” said Chris Berry, Associate Vice President – Edmond District. “Every child is encouraged, supported, and given the chance to succeed in their own way, while being part of a positive and inclusive community.” At the Y, programs are designed to be inclusive, safe, and development-focused, ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate, make friends, and feel a sense of belonging. With an emphasis on positive coaching and age-appropriate competition, kids can learn the game while building confidence and character along the way. Registration for the upcoming fall sports season opens Tuesday, June 9. Learn more about youth sports at the Y by visiting: ymcaokc.org/youth-sports. Written by Corey Cargill, [email protected]
