Orange County Treasury Pool Earns Top Fitch Rating
Orange County's Treasury Pool received the highest possible credit and risk ratings from Fitch Ratings on April 14, maintaining its AAAf/S1 Fund Credit Quality Rating and Market Risk Sensitivity Rating since November 2023.
The pool manages county funds and money for Orange County school districts and community college districts. The County Investment Division invests the funds under a Board of Supervisors-approved policy that prioritizes principal security, liquidity, and returns while following the "prudent investor" standard.
Board members credited conservative investment practices for the rating. "Our focus remains on maintaining appropriate reserves, limiting debt, and adhering to a conservative low risk investment policy," Vice Chair Katrina Foley said.
