Placer County Halts Short-Term Rental Permits at Lake Tahoe

The Placer County Board of Supervisors enacted a temporary moratorium on new short-term rental permits in certain areas, including around Lake Tahoe, citing resident complaints about neighborhood impacts.

The moratorium applies only to new permits. Existing short-term rentals with valid permits will continue operating. County officials will now review current policies and develop new regulations, a process that will include community input.
