A Freeze Watch is in effect for the Grande Ronde Valley and Central Oregon from late Friday night through Saturday morning, with temperatures as low as 30 degrees possible; protect sensitive plants now.

Residents in the Grande Ronde Valley and Central Oregon should take immediate steps to protect sensitive plants from sub-freezing temperatures expected late Friday night through Saturday morning. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Pendleton, OR, has issued a Freeze Watch effective from late Friday, October 9, until Saturday, October 10, at 10:00 AM PDT.

Temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit are possible across the affected areas. This could lead to frost and freeze conditions that may kill crops and other vulnerable vegetation. Unprotected outdoor plumbing could also sustain damage.

The NWS advises taking action now to safeguard tender plants from the cold. This Freeze Watch was issued at 11:36 AM PDT on October 8 and remains in effect for the specified period.
