Hamilton County Commissioners Manage Local Services

The Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners, a five-member elected body, directs local government policy and manages essential county services. Each commissioner serves a four-year term, representing their elected district.

The board oversees the County Road Department, Emergency Medical Services, Land Use Administration, SHIP, Solid Waste, County Recreation, the Building Department, Economic Development, Veteran Services, the Agricultural Extension Office, and Maintenance. Commissioners adopt and approve the annual budget and millage rate that fund and guide these operations.

Florida Statutes Chapter 125 grants the Board of County Commissioners the power to establish local government policy and manage the operational expenditures and revenue required for county services.
