Noxubee County residents must complete preparations immediately as a Tropical Storm Warning has been issued. The National Weather Service (NWS) Jackson MS issued the warning today, October 9, at 3:56 PM CDT, effective until 12:00 AM UTC on October 10.
Expect winds between 15-25 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. There is a potential for winds reaching 39 to 57 mph. Damage to unsecured objects, large tree limbs, and some fences is possible, along with scattered power outages. Efforts to protect property should be underway now. Act to complete preparations before hazardous winds begin.
A Flood Watch is also in effect. An additional 1-3 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts, is expected. This presents a potential for moderate flooding, which may prompt evacuations and rescues.
