A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Macon, including Tuskegee, effective immediately. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL, issued the warning at 9:56 PM CDT on October 9. Residents are urged to complete all preparations before hazardous winds arrive.

Peak winds are forecast between 20-30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph, with a potential for winds between 58 to 73 mph. Significant impacts include possible damage to roofs, siding, porches, and mobile homes, as well as snapped trees and impassable roads. Scattered power and communications outages are also anticipated.

There is also a potential for a few tornadoes. Residents should prepare to take shelter quickly if a tornado warning is issued. This warning is effective until 6:00 AM UTC on October 10. For more information, visit ready.gov/hurricanes.
