Dr. Bryce Putnam Wins National Rural Health Award

Dr. Bryce S. Putnam, Elko County Health Officer, received the 2020 Community Star award from the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health. The national organization selected him among 50 recipients nationwide for driving rural health initiatives in his community.

Gerald Ackerman and the Elko County Commissioners recognized Putnam at the Feb. 17 commission meeting. Putnam serves as Associate Clinical Dental Director at Nevada Health Centers, providing dental care to children in need, and as Regional Clinic Director for the CDC Foundation COVID-19 Corps. The commissioners thanked him for 14 months managing the county's COVID-19 response.
