Bay County 911 Dispatchers: Emergency Heroes Behind the Scenes

Bay County dispatchers answered thousands of emergency calls this year, serving as the first point of contact when residents need help most.

During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Bay County Sheriff's Office highlighted the work of its dispatch center staff. Dispatchers field 911 calls, assess situations, and direct first responders — all under pressure where seconds matter.

"These men and women work under intense conditions," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement recognizing dispatchers for their professionalism and commitment to public safety.
