Strong Thunderstorms Moving Northeast: Gusts Up To 40 MPH Expected

Strong thunderstorms with wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea-sized hail are expected across Robeson, Marlboro, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, and Marion counties until 11:00 AM EDT; residents should monitor weather conditions.

Residents in Robeson, Marlboro, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, and Marion counties should monitor weather conditions closely as a line of strong thunderstorms is moving northeast at 30 mph. This Special Weather Statement has been issued by the National Weather Service Wilmington NC and is in effect until 11:00 AM EDT today, October 11, 2026.

As of 10:09 AM EDT, radar indicated these storms extending from over Chavistown to over Evergreen, roughly 7 miles northwest of Bennettsville to 7 miles southeast of Florence. Hazards include wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea-sized hail. Expect gusty winds that could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Areas expected to be impacted include Florence, Bennettsville, Marion, Dillon, Mullins, Maxton, McColl, Latta, Rowland, Quinby, Lake View, Clio, Sellers, Bingham, Oak Grove, Brownsville, Minturn, Dunbar, Little Rock, and Blue Brick. The National Weather Service advises monitoring the situation closely and remaining alert for threatening weather conditions.
