Residents in Mobile, AL, and George and Greene Counties in MS are urged to seek immediate shelter due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service Mobile AL. This warning is in effect until 9:30 PM CDT tonight, September 21.

As of 8:57 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were detected along a line stretching from 7 miles west of Gulfcrest to 10 miles west of Lucedale, moving south at 20 mph. These storms are expected to bring 60 mph wind gusts. Radar indicated the presence and movement of these severe storms.

Expected impacts include damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Areas specifically impacted include Lucedale, Gulfcrest, and Wilmer.

For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Stay informed and remain indoors until the warning expires.
