William Watts Named Longwood City Manager

William Watts Appointed Longwood City Manager

William Watts became City Manager for Longwood on May 20, 2025, taking direct responsibility for all city departments under the City Commission.

Watts, 54, previously served as Deputy Fire Chief for Longwood, where he oversaw emergency operations and strategic planning. Before that, he was Fire Chief in Maitland.

As City Manager, Watts oversees budget development, capital improvement programs, and economic development initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Emergency Management and an Associate of Science in Fire Science. The Center for Public Safety Excellence credentialed him as a Chief Fire Officer.

His career includes leading disaster preparedness and recovery efforts during multiple hurricanes and the COVID-19 pandemic. Watts, a Seminole County native, lives in Winter Springs with his family.
