North Manatee Soccer Club Treasurer Nancy Fetzner Arrested for $146,000 Embezzlement Scheme

Longboat Key residents are learning today about the arrest of Nancy Fetzner, 52, the former treasurer of the North Manatee Soccer Club. Authorities charged Fetzner with Scheme to Defraud $50,000 or more after an investigation revealed she allegedly misused over $146,000 in club funds for personal expenses.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office initiated its investigation on June 29, 2026, after receiving reports of suspected financial fraud within the soccer club. Detectives discovered Fetzner deposited more than $44,000 into a club sub-account through remote deposits, beginning in August 2023. She also transferred nearly $102,000 from the club’s main business account into the same sub-account.

A club volunteer first identified suspicious transactions, including purchases related to Disney, a trip to Las Vegas, and sporting events. Economic Crimes detectives later confirmed Fetzner used funds from the sub-account for personal travel and living expenses. The total loss to the North Manatee Soccer Club exceeds $146,000.

Fetzner was arrested on August 14, 2026. Following her arrest, the North Manatee Soccer Club removed her from her treasurer position. The case number for the investigation is 2026-013734.
