Drivers in Rockcastle, Pulaski, Laurel, Wayne, McCreary, Whitley, Knox, and Bell counties are advised to exercise extreme caution this morning, Thursday, September 25, due to expected dense fog. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jackson, KY, issued a Special Weather Statement at 5:50 AM EDT, effective until 9:30 AM EDT.
Following recent rainfall, clearing skies and decreasing winds are creating conditions for fog, particularly in valleys south of the Cumberland Parkway to Hal Rogers Parkway and the KY 80 corridor. Visibility may drop below half a mile in some areas.
