Hillsborough Sheriff Investigates Woman's Death on Tampa Roadside

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an adult female found unresponsive Tuesday morning on a Tampa roadside.

A deputy observed the woman lying near the intersection of Sligh Avenue and 78th Street at approximately 7:39 a.m. September 22, 2026. Deputies and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded, and the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office stated the investigation is active. The identity of the deceased and the cause of death have not yet been released.
