STUDENT SERVICES We are excited to announce our extended day enrichment program for your children! Our program is designed to provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment for students to learn and grow after school. The most important part of Brooker Community School is our students. BCS is committed to serving our students, not just during regular school hours, but also promoting continued learning before and after school to ensure a fulfilling experience each and every day. After School Program About our After School Program Our after-school program offers a safe place for our students to remain on campus and continue learning while having fun with friends. We offer academic support, enrichment activities, daily snacks, and time for structured play. After School Program Cost $60 per week $15 per day Pick-Up & Schedule Parents will pick-up their child from the cafeteria after 2:30 pm. Families must show photo ID to pick up their child. 2:30 - Attendance/Snack 3:00 - Recess 3:30 - Homework Help 4:00 - Enrichment Activity 4:45 - Centers For more information contact: Stephanie Nash [email protected] 352-485-1545 Clubs & Activities 4-H and Jr. Garden Club at Brooker Community School The 4-H and Jr. Garden Club at Brooker Community School is a hands-on, experiential learning program where students explore the wonders of gardening and environmental stewardship. Through this club, students develop skills in horticulture, plant science, and sustainability while fostering teamwork and responsibility. Members participate in planting, maintaining, and harvesting a variety of plants in our school garden, with opportunities to learn about nutrition, agriculture, and the importance of green spaces in our community. Aligned with the principles of the national 4-H organization, this club encourages leadership, curiosity, and a love for the outdoors. Whether students are seasoned gardeners or just starting out, the 4-H and Jr. Garden Club offers a welcoming environment for all to grow, learn, and make a positive impact. The club meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Students must complete an enrollment form to attend. For more information, contact Ms. Shelhon at [email protected].

AAOMS 2026 Annual Meeting Scheduled for Seattle

"Sessions will feature clinical education, emerging research, AI discussions and professional development for surgeons and teams  ROSEMONT, Ill. – The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) will host the 108th AAOMS Annual Meeting, Scientific Sessions and Exhibition from Sept. 28 to Oct. 3, 2026, in Seattle, Wash. Events will take place at the Seattle Convention Center Summit and the Hyatt Regency Seattle.   As the largest educational conference dedicated exclusively to oral and maxillofacial surgeons (OMSs) and their teams, the 2026 Annual Meeting will convene thousands of OMS professionals from across the United States and around the world. The year’s event centers on the theme Together We Thrive: Celebrating Family and Our OMS Community, reflecting the specialty’s commitment to collaboration, mentorship and shared purpose in patient care.   “This year’s theme reflects the strength of the relationships that define our specialty,” said AAOMS President Robert S. Clark, DMD. “From residents entering the field to surgeons at the forefront of innovation, the Annual Meeting brings our community together to learn, connect and reaffirm the shared purpose that unites us in caring for patients.”  Showcasing clinical innovation and expertise  Educational programming will span eight clinical tracks covering 11 topics across the oral and maxillofacial scope of practice, including anesthesia, dental implants, dentoalveolar, orthognathic, pediatrics and pathology, reconstruction and nerve, temporomandibular joint, and trauma and cosmetic. Each track will feature evidence-based presentations, case-based roundtable discussions and the latest clinical research.  Other notable programming includes:  The Chalmers J. Lyons Memorial Lecture, during which surgeon, bioethicist and academic health system leader Charles Binkley, MD, FACS, will examine current and emerging applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare.    Master Classes on high-demand topics including the latest information on managing pain after third molar surgery, pediatric maxillofacial trauma care, patient-specific treatment planning and understanding oropharyngeal carcinoma.   More than 20 practice management sessions focused on improving clinical operations, practice performance and patient care.  The Opening Ceremony, Awards Presentation and Meeting Dedication that will recognize achievements in education, research, advocacy and humanitarian service.  Planning to attend?  Registration is open to AAOMS members, OMS residents, non-members and media.
