The African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church of the 5th District, led by Bishop Francine Brookins, hosted a press conference yesterday p.m. at the historic First A.M.E. Church – Pasadena

The African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church of the 5th District, led by Bishop Francine Brookins, hosted a press conference yesterday p.m. at the historic First A.M.E. Church – Pasadena. This significant event addressed the impact of the EATON fire that has devastated the local community, particularly affecting over 65 families and more than 160 individuals from the AME Church community. “This gathering is not just about addressing the immediate needs of those impacted by the EATON fire, but also about fostering a holistic approach to healing,” said Bishop Francine Brookins. “While we focus on the black community, we are committed to creating a healthy, healing, mental, financial, legal, and redevelopment process that encompasses the entire community.” Individual persons interested in supporting the 5th Episcopal District can donate in the following ways: Mail: Send checks payable to the 5th Episcopal District with the memo: Disaster Relief. 4519 Admiralty Way, Suite 205, Marina del Rey, CA 90292 Online: Zelle to [email protected] Local AME congregations have been asked to take up offerings this Sunday to support the 5th Episcopal District.
