Coats Native Kayden Beasley Makes U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team

Kayden Beasley, 19, of Coats will represent the United States in sled hockey at the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, Italy.

Beasley, a congenital bilateral amputee adopted from China, began playing sled hockey in 2019 with the Carolina Hurricanes Sled Hockey Team. He made his U.S. national team debut in 2024 at the International Para Hockey Cup in Ostrava, Czech Republic, earning U.S. Player of the Game honors in a semifinal match against Italy. At the 2025 Para Hockey Cup in British Columbia, he helped Team USA win gold.

The Milano Cortina games will mark his first Paralympic appearance. Beasley joins a U.S. sled hockey program that has won multiple Olympic gold medals.
