Help is still available through the contacts below. Evacuation. Okaloosa County has ordered a mandatory evacuation of Zones A and B, effective noon Thursday. The order includes portions of coastal Mary Esther. Find your zone by entering your address at https://myokaloosa.com/gis_ps. If you are in Zone A or B, please leave now while roads are clear. County shelters opened at 6 p.m. Thursday; the current shelter list and evacuation details are at https://myokaloosa.com/eoc/home. Who to call Life-threatening emergency: 911 Water or sewer emergency: Jacobs, 850-420-7324 (answered 24 hours) Power outage: Florida Power & Light, 1-800-4OUTAGE (1-800-468-8243), the FPL app, or online. Please report your outage even if you think a neighbor already has. FPL’s Power Tracker map shows outages and restoration estimates. Downed power line: Stay far away. Call 911 or FPL at 1-800-468-8243. Gas smell or suspected leak: Leave the area first, then call 911 or Okaloosa Gas at 850-729-4700 (24 hours). Shelters, evacuation and County updates: Okaloosa County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) County emergency alerts: Sign up at Alert Okaloosa or text OKALOOSAFL to 888777. A few things that help. If you run a generator, keep it outside and away from doors and windows, and never plug it into a wall outlet. Please do not drive through standing water. Where updates will come from.
