Irmo Breaks Ground on New Basketball Court

Construction crews began work this week on a full-court basketball court at Rawls Creek Park, 1113 Friarsgate Blvd. Town officials, representatives from Virtus Construction, and Public Works staff attended a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday morning.

The court will feature professional-grade asphalt and full-size dimensions. Virtus Construction expects to complete the project by mid-July, weather permitting.

Town officials said the court expands recreational opportunities for families, youth, and fitness enthusiasts across Irmo.
