Kentucky Joins Federal School Choice Program After Veto Override
The Kentucky Legislature defied Gov. Andy Beshear's veto in March to opt the state into a federal tax credit scholarship program, making Kentucky the 28th state—and the first to do so without gubernatorial approval. The move allows Kentucky families to use scholarships funded by tax-credited donations for private school tuition and other educational expenses.
