Winter Storm Warning for Snowy and Judith Mountains: Prepare for Heavy Snow

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Snowy and Judith Mountains by the NWS Great Falls MT, expecting 6-12 inches of snow and difficult travel conditions from Saturday evening to Monday morning.

Residents in the Snowy and Judith Mountains should prepare for a Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service Great Falls MT. Heavy snow is expected to impact the area from Saturday at 6:00 PM MDT until Monday, October 12, at 6:00 AM MDT.

Total snow accumulations are predicted to be between 6 and 12 inches. Travel could become very difficult during this period. Gusty winds, combined with the heavy, wet snow, may lead to downed tree branches and isolated power outages.

Snowfall amounts will vary, particularly at lower elevations, with accumulations on non-grassy surfaces primarily occurring between evening and late morning hours.

If travel is necessary, the National Weather Service advises keeping an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle. For the latest road conditions, call 511.
