Levy County Man Sentenced 67 Months for Registration Violation
Kyle Michael Bailey, a registered sex offender, was sentenced to 67 months in the Florida Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to failing to report that he vacated his registered residence.
Detective C. Weaver of the Levy County Sheriff's Office discovered Bailey had left his registered address without notifying authorities, a requirement under Florida law. The investigation began after the Florida Department of Law Enforcement flagged that Bailey no longer lived at the address on file. Weaver conducted address verification checks and interviewed witnesses before confirming the violation.
Bailey had five previous sexual offender registration violations dating to 2018. He was originally convicted in 2012 of sexual battery on a victim under 12 years old.
Sheriff Bobby McCallum said the case demonstrates the office's commitment to enforcing registration requirements. "Individuals who fail to comply with these requirements will be investigated and held responsible," he said.
Anyone with information about sexual offender registration violations should contact the Levy County Sheriff's Office at (352) 486-5111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-349-8477.
