Brunswick County Flood Damage Prevention Program

Brunswick County's Floodplain Management division helps residents and builders in flood-prone areas minimize storm damage through education and building oversight.

The division, part of County Code Administration, operates from the county seat of Bolivia. Property owners can purchase federally-subsidized flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program, which the county joined in 1986. Homeowners and business owners also qualify for low-interest federal loans and grants from HUD and the Small Business Administration following a federally declared disaster.
