CORRECTIONS OFFICER GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the assigned shift supervisor, responsible for the care, custody and control of inmates in the Calhoun County Correctional Facility. Performs duties of the Department and maintains security of the facility. Oversees the general conduct and behavior of inmates during work assignments, meals, recreational activities, and visitations. Transports inmates to court, medical appointments, other correctional facilities, etc. Enforces all jail rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Performs related duties as assigned. The work involves an element of personal danger. Although the work is performed under the general supervision of a higher ranking officer, the Corrections Officer must be able to exercise independent judgment and initiative. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED. MCOLES certification is preferred but not required. APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL THE POSITION IS FILLED.
