Lebanon Veteran Service Officer Earns State Accreditation
Mike Spidel, Boone County Veteran Service Officer, completed Indiana's statewide accreditation program for veteran service officers, becoming one of the first in the state to meet new professional standards.
Indiana became the first state to implement comprehensive accreditation standards for county veteran service officers. The program trains officers to help veterans access benefits, healthcare, and other services.
The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs recognized Spidel at a ceremony attended by Director Jake Adams and fellow accredited service officers from Central Indiana. Adams presented Spidel with an accreditation certificate and commemorative challenge coin.
"Mike's accreditation reflects his dedication to serving Boone County veterans with professionalism, compassion, and expertise," said Nick Parr, Boone County Director of Administration. "Veterans and their families face complex systems when seeking benefits and assistance. This certification helps ensure they have knowledgeable local support."
