Vasil Zaviysky, aged 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026.Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation at Werson Funeral Home, Linden, on Tuesday, May 26 from 5 – 8 pm. Panakhyda will be held at 7 pm. The Funeral begins on Wednesday at 9 am at the Funeral Home, thence to St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, Elizabeth, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Ukrainian Cemetery, Bound Brook. To offer condolences, please visit www.wersonfh.comBorn in Krolik, Poland, on January 3, 1933, Vasil was the beloved son of the late Ivan Zaviysky and Anastasia Zaviysky (née Jawylak). In 1980, he emigrated from Ukraine to the United States, settling in Linden, New Jersey, where he resided for the last 46 years.Vasil was a Tool & Die Maker in the manufacturing sector, spending 20 years with Edison Mold, Inc. in Kenilworth, before his retirement in 2001.Vasil, is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Zaviysky (née Lazorchyk), with whom he shared 68 beautiful years of marriage; his devoted sons, Yaroslav Zaviysky and his wife Natalia, and Volodymyr Zaviysky and his wife Oksana ; and his cherished granddaughters, Adriana and Oksana.
