Las Cruces Police Hiring Youth Prevention Coordinator
The Las Cruces Police Department is hiring a Youth Prevention and Intervention Coordinator to reduce youth involvement in the criminal justice system.
The coordinator will evaluate existing youth programs, identify gaps and duplications, and build collaboration among law enforcement, schools, community organizations and social service providers.
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, public administration, sociology, psychology or a related field, plus two years of experience in youth services, juvenile justice, diversion programs, social services or community program coordination. The city will consider equivalent combinations of education and experience. Prior work with law enforcement and community partners is preferred.
The position is funded through a grant secured by New Mexico Sen. Joseph Cervantes via the GRO Fund, a state initiative created by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and the State Legislature to support community projects, workforce training and pilot programs.
Applications are due June 22. The full job description and application are available on the City of Las Cruces website.
