19-Year-Old Arrested in Las Cruces Miranda Street Shooting
Las Cruces police arrested Titus Josiah McGaw Bulger, 19, on April 21 for shooting an 18-year-old in the face during an attempted robbery on north Miranda Street.
The shooting occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on April 1 in the 1100 block of north Miranda Street. The victim had arranged to sell vape cartridges containing THC and nicotine to Bulger through social media. After Bulger approached the victim's pickup truck and attempted to steal the cartridges, he fired two shots into the vehicle, striking the victim in the face. Bulger fled toward a nearby apartment complex.
The victim drove away and crashed into a canal. Emergency responders transported him to University Medical Center of El Paso, where he received treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives identified Bulger using surveillance camera images and the victim's social media accounts. Bulger faces felony charges of shooting at or from a motor vehicle causing great bodily harm, attempted armed robbery and receiving a stolen firearm. He remains held without bond at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
