Summer Swim Lessons & Lifeguard Courses in Largo 2026
The City of Largo will offer swim lessons for children ages three and up at Highland Family Aquatic Center and Southwest Pool during May, June, and July 2026.
Registration opens April 1 for May sessions and May 1 for June and July sessions. Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at Highland Family Aquatic Center and Mondays and Wednesdays at Southwest Pool, with morning and evening options available.
Each session costs $60 and requires a valid Largo Recreation membership. Scholarships cover 50 percent of the lesson fee for families who qualify, providing a $50 credit per person on a first-come, first-served basis.
Residents can register in person at any Largo recreation center or online at PlayLargo.com/SwimLessons. Private lessons are also available. For questions, call 727-518-3126 or email [email protected].
The city also offers Red Cross Lifeguarding certification for youth ages 15 and up and Jr. Lifeguarding for ages 11 to 15. Courses run in March and April 2026 at Southwest Pool and do not require a recreation membership. Registration is open at PlayLargo.com/Lifeguard.
Drowning remains the leading cause of death for children ages one through four, and near-drowning incidents can result in lifelong disabilities. The city provides swim safety resources at Largo.com/SwimSafety.
