Patients can now obtain naloxone without a prescription at Walgreens pharmacies throughout the state, under a standing order from the state's health department. This initiative is aimed at combating the opioid crisis and reducing overdose deaths in Florida communities. Walgreens pharmacists are trained to counsel patients on the proper use of naloxone and provide information on opioid addiction treatment resources.
