ACTION REQUIRED: Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Albany and Carbon Counties

Residents in northeastern Carbon County and central Albany County are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building immediately due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.
This warning is in effect until 5:00 PM MDT today, October 10. At 4:10 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Elk Mountain, approximately 42 miles east of Rawlins, moving northeast at a rapid 75 mph. The primary hazard is 70 mph wind gusts, as indicated by radar.
The National Weather Service warns that impacts could include considerable tree damage, and damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Communities impacted include Hanna, Medicine Bow, Rock River, Elk Mountain, McFadden, Wheatland Reservoir Number 3, Bow River Campground, and Arlington.
