Guardrail work begins Monday on US 189/191 near Bondurant
BONDURANT, Wyo. The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) and contract crews from S & L Industrial, LLC will begin work on guardrail repairs on US 189/191 near Bondurant on Monday, Sept. 21.
BONDURANT, Wyo. The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) and contract crews from S & L Industrial, LLC will begin work on guardrail repairs on US 189/191 near Bondurant on Monday, Sept. 21. Crews will be doing slope and roadwork and installing guardrail from mile marker 131 to 153. While operations are underway, traffic will be carried through all the work areas at reduced speeds using flaggers and pilot cars. Drivers are advised to obey all traffic control signs and plan accordingly for delays that will occur in the work zones. Delays could last 10 to 20 minutes at a time. Drivers who are approaching the work zone from an adjacent connecting road are advised to stop and wait for the pilot car. Once the queue of cars following the pilot car has passed in the direction the driver wishes to travel, the driver is then able to turn out and follow the queue through the work zone. At night, traffic control will be removed, and the highway will return to two full lanes of travel without a pilot car. However, a 24/7 portable traffic signal will remain active at one bridge location within the project limits. During construction, width restrictions will be in place, with specific time periods where oversized loads may come through on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but all oversized loads must contact their local port of entry for approval in advance. WYDOT encourages drivers to slow down, increase their following distance and be aware of roadside workers. The project completion date is set for Oct. 31, 2026. The schedule is weather dependent and subject to change. WYDOT is committed to providing the public with update information as work progresses.
