Lutz resident Mason Kline added a vibrant touch to the Historic Lutz Cemetery by painting two large concrete American flags, transforming them into section markers for the Post 108 Honor Eternal Section. Kline began the project Sept. 18.
Kline, a young volunteer, approached the Historic Lutz Cemetery seeking a way to contribute. Cemetery officials tasked him with painting the concrete flags, which will mark the Honor Eternal Section, a space for veterans and community remembrance. Operations Manager Lisa Sargent and Grounds Manager Nate Southwick presented the project to Kline.
Kline worked on the flags on Friday, Sept. 18, and returned the following Friday, Sept. 25, to complete the work. Board of Directors President Don Hinst provided the materials for the project. The painted flags are a permanent addition intended to honor service and remembrance at the cemetery, established in 1911.
