Boil water advisory lifted for Lancaster Water System customers
The City of Lancaster has lifted the boil water advisory for several areas, including Eastfield Road, Shellybrooke, Edgewood, and Old Bailes Road, after water quality tests confirmed safety.

LANCASTER, SC – The City of Lancaster has officially lifted the boil water advisory for customers of the Lancaster Water System. The advisory, which was put in place on May 15, 2024, has been rescinded following successful water quality testing.
Residents in the affected areas no longer need to boil water for drinking, cooking, or other household uses. The City of Lancaster expressed gratitude for the community's patience and cooperation during the period the advisory was active.
The boil water advisory specifically impacted customers along Eastfield Road from Highway 521 to the city limits, the Shellybrooke neighborhood, the Edgewood neighborhood, and Old Bailes Road from Highway 521 to approximately 1729 Old Bailes Road.
Test results have confirmed that the water is now safe for consumption. The City of Lancaster thanks its residents for their understanding as they worked to resolve the issue and ensure the safety of the public water supply.
