Severe Thunderstorm Warning: 60 MPH Winds Threaten Region Until 11 PM

Residents in southwestern Fairfield, western Hocking, southeastern Pickaway, and northeastern Ross Counties are advised to seek immediate shelter as a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 11:00 PM EDT tonight, September 20.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington issued the warning at 10:17 PM EDT. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts was located near Kingston, moving east at 35 mph. These winds are capable of causing damage to trees and power lines.

Affected locations include Circleville, Logan, Kingston, and Hocking Hills State Park, among others. For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Remain alert for a possible tornado; if one is spotted, go at once into a basement or small central room.
