Lakeland ESOL Support Honoree: Nora Juarez-De Jackson

Nora Juarez-De Jackson, an executive secretary in the ESOL department, received the "Focused on Excellence" award for her dedication to supporting English language learners and their families in the Lakeland school district.

"What I love most about my job is being able to support our schools and help ensure our English language learners receive the services they need to succeed," Juarez-De Jackson said. She described working with a "strong, collaborative team committed to making a difference for students and their families."

The "Focused on Excellence" campaign, now in its sixth year, recognizes district employees nominated by their peers. Winners receive prizes and publicity. Local sponsors A.D. Morgan, Camp Margaritaville Auburndale and Publix Super Markets, Inc. supported this year's awards.

The award highlights the ESOL department's work to assist students and families navigating a new educational system.
