Florida Southern College's School of Education is asking Polk County school administrators to evaluate candidates for its Master of Educational Leadership program. The college uses the FLDOE Leadership Potential Form to gather feedback on applicants.
The form assesses candidates based on the Florida Department of Education's definition of leadership potential. This includes skills and dispositions necessary for admission, such as improving student achievement and enhancing teaching effectiveness among colleagues.
Administrators will rate candidates on eight Florida Educational Leadership Standards. They also will confirm if candidates have two or more years of teaching experience and provide a written assessment of their leadership potential.
Completed forms can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to the Office of Adult and Graduate Admission, Florida Southern College, 111 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, FL 33801. This collaboration aims to ensure admitted students have the foundational skills and commitment to educational leadership.
