In developing a “first class” parks and recreation system our focus has been on providing quality, multiple-use opportunities for citizens of Beltrami County and tourists alike. Opportunities for mountain biking, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, hunting, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling to name a few, can be found throughout Beltrami County. Press Release: CSAH 20 Construction and Detour By Beltrami County - Jun 25, 2026 Press Releases Road Construction CSAH 20, Closure and Detour Begins June 25, 2026 Utility work on County State Aid Highway 20 (Birchmont Beach Road NE) will result in a complete road closure starting June 25th, 2026 between CSAH 21 (Bemidji Road NE) and Country Club Road NE. The road will be closed to all thru traffic during the utility work. Access will be maintained to those who have businesses or residences along or only accessed by CSAH 20. A signed detour will be in place for the duration of the project, please follow the signed detour. Utility work is expected to go through July 2026. Press Release: 2026 Chip Sealing

Press Release: 2026 Chip Sealing Chip seal operations will begin Monday, July 27, 2026, on various routes within the county. Chip sealing operations include application of a liquid emulsion to the road, covering it with small rock, rolling the rock into the oil with heavy rollers, and applying a final liquid emulsion to prolong the life of the road. During construction drivers may encounter wet oil and loose rock. Please avoid driving into wet oil and wait for the pilot cars that will be operating in the construction zone. Please use caution and reduce vehicle speed to help prevent vehicle damage as loose rock may be present. Roads to be seal coated: CSAH 7 from South County Line to CSAH 14 CSAH 11 from TH 197 to CSAH 7 CSAH 15 from CSAH 52 to the Turtle River CSAH 27 from CSAH 12 to CSAH 20 CSAH 29 from CSAH 43 to TH 71 CSAH 30 from CSAH 31 to TH 71 CSAH 31 from TH 71 to CSAH 32 CSAH 43 from CR 307 to TH 71 CSAH 22 from TH 71 to CR 307 CSAH 33 from CSAH 8 to CSAH 12 CR 307 from CSAH 43 to Three Culverts Road Beltrami County Highway Department urges motorists to use caution when traveling in and around all work zones. Press Release: Division Street Trail Construction

Press Release: Division Street Trail Construction By Beltrami County - Jun 05, 2026 Press Releases Construction is proposed to start along CSAH 7, Division St W, Monday, June 8, 2026. The work includes the construction of a shared use trail along the South side of the road from Bemidji High School to CSAH 11 (Adams Ave NW) then crossing to the North side and continuing to CSAH 14 (Division St W). The project will be open to traffic; however, people are urged to find an alternative route to avoid delays. Expect ongoing construction activities including partial lane closures and shoulder closures. Work is expected to be completed by September 4th. Beltrami County Highway Department urges motorists to slow down and use caution when traveling in work zones.
