Citizen of the Month – January 2026  The City of Rio Grande City Mayor and Commission proudly recognize Mrs. Linda Nelda Laurel as our January 2026 Citizen of the Month. A lifelong resident of Rio Grande City, Mrs. Laurel dedicated 39 years to educating generations of students at Rio Grande City High School, inspiring excellence in Spanish and French studies while fostering leadership, cultural awareness, and school pride. Beyond the classroom, her unwavering commitment to community service, faith-based organizations, and civic involvement reflects a lifetime devoted to serving others. Mrs. Laurel’s legacy lives on through her students, her family, and the countless lives she has touched through education, mentorship, and compassion.
