Mount Dora Secures 43rd Consecutive GFOA Excellence in Financial Reporting Award
Mount Dora earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2022. This marks the 43rd consecutive year the city received this recognition.
The Certificate of Achievement represents the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. An impartial panel judged the ACFR against the GFOA's high program standards. The report demonstrated a "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate Mount Dora's financial story.
This consistent recognition highlights Mount Dora's commitment to financial transparency and sound fiscal management. Residents can review the ACFR to understand the city's financial health, including revenues, expenditures, and overall financial position.
The GFOA is a non-profit professional association that serves approximately 17,500 government finance professionals. It maintains offices in Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C.
Mount Dora's finance department continues its work on the next Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, which will cover the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023.
