Lake Alfred City Commission to Tackle Budget, Millage Rate, and Key Projects Thursday, Sept. 24

Lake Alfred residents can gain insight into the city's financial future and upcoming infrastructure projects this Thursday, September 24, 2026, when the City Commission convenes for its regular meeting. The meeting, scheduled for 7:00 PM at City Hall, will address critical decisions regarding the city's budget and tax rate.

Mayor Mac Fuller will call the meeting to order, followed by City Clerk Linda Bourgeois conducting the Roll Call. Citizens will have two opportunities to address the Commission, including a dedicated session for items not on the agenda, allowing direct engagement with city leaders.

A significant portion of the evening will focus on city finances. Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing for Resolution 10-26, which concerns the Final Millage Rate. Another Public Hearing will address Ordinance 1583-26 for the FY 26/27 Annual Budget. These discussions directly impact property owners and the funding available for city services.

The agenda also includes several resolutions impacting city operations. Resolution 11-26 addresses a Bad Debt Write-off, while Resolution 12-26 concerns an FDOT Right-of-Way Maintenance Agreement. The Consent Agenda includes an agreement with the Central Florida Regional Planning Council for Planning Services, indicating a continued focus on strategic development.

Other Consent Agenda items include the City Commission Meeting Minutes from September 10, 2026, a Parade Route Authorization, and a purchase from CDN Partners for a new server. Following citizen comments, Commissioners Robinson, Eden, Dearmin, Mayor Fuller, and Vice Mayor Daley will offer their questions and comments.
