A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for La Grange, Troup County, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Peachtree City GA, effective immediately as of October 9 at 11:19 PM EDT. This warning signifies severe weather conditions are imminent.

Residents should complete all preparations for hazardous wind, with gusts potentially reaching 45 mph. Damage to outdoor structures and trees is possible, along with scattered power outages. Efforts to protect property should now be complete. Act now to finalize any last-minute preparations before winds become hazardous.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 2-3 inches of rain expected, potentially causing moderate flooding. Rivers and streams may overflow, and floodwaters could enter some structures. Heed all flood watches and warnings. If you are in a flood-prone area, consider protective actions, as evacuations and rescues are possible. Driving conditions will become hazardous in affected areas.

The NWS also indicates a potential for a few isolated tornadoes. If a tornado warning is issued, be ready to shelter quickly. If your shelter is vulnerable, prepare to relocate to a safer location before hazardous weather arrives.

This Tropical Storm Warning is set to expire on October 10 at 7:30 AM UTC. For more information on family emergency plans, visit ready.gov/hurricanes, and for local weather updates, go to weather.gov/atlanta.
