Pasco County residents facing potential flooding can access two self-serve sandbag stations operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The stations are located at Pasco County Public Works (C-Barn), 30908 Warder Road in San Antonio, and Magnolia Valley Golf Course, 7223 Massachusetts Avenue in New Port Richey. Both locations are open to all Pasco County residents.
Sand and sandbags will be restocked daily, weather permitting. Residents must bring their own shovels to fill the bags.
The county also urges residents to observe the "Turn Around, Don't Drown!" campaign, advising them to avoid flooded areas and never attempt to cross flooded roads or streams, especially at night or in low visibility.
Standing water can increase the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses. Residents can reduce this risk by regularly draining outdoor containers, emptying and refilling pet water bowls and birdbaths, removing yard debris, and ensuring gutters and drains are clear.
