
Charter School of Excellence Busy September in Pembroke Pines
The Charter School of Excellence in Pembroke Pines concluded a busy September with academic progress monitoring, Family Night and character development initiatives. The school also highlighted its parent support services, including free before and aftercare and bus transportation.

PEMBROKE PINES – The Charter School of Excellence (CSE) in Pembroke Pines wrapped up a busy September with academic progress monitoring, family engagement events and student recognition.
Principal Dr. Washington highlighted the month’s activities, emphasizing the school’s commitment to student learning and growth. Parents and students participated in events designed to build community and support academic achievement.
Family Night on Sept. 23 offered parents direct engagement in their children's education. Kindergarten through second-grade families attended from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., and third through fifth-grade families participated from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Attendees explored student projects, reviewed progress and discussed academic success with teachers.
Academically, September included the first round of student progress monitoring. The school also focused on character development, teaching students about compassion. Students learned to recognize when others struggle, offer help, listen attentively and act kindly.
In fine arts, students worked on tactile STEM projects. Physical education classes emphasized teamwork, heart health and locomotor skills.
CSE offers parents support services, including free Morning and Aftercare programs. Morning Care begins at 7:30 a.m. and includes breakfast. Aftercare provides academic enrichment, a snack and homework help, with pickup by 6:00 p.m.
The school also provides free bus transportation to and from its Davie campus via E2E Transportation. This service includes pickups and drop-offs at participating Boys & Girls Club locations.
