
SCF Lakewood Ranch Hosts Café Hispano for Hispanic Heritage Month
SCF's Hispanic-Latino Heritage Club hosts "Café Hispano" on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Lakewood Ranch campus, featuring Latin American coffees, teas and oral histories.

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with events and programs across its campuses. The SCF Hispanic-Latino Heritage Club presents a "Café Hispano" event Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the SCF Lakewood Ranch campus.
The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees can sample coffees and teas from Latin American countries and enjoy complementary refreshments. The program will feature oral histories from SCF staff and students of Hispanic heritage, sharing personal experiences and cultural backgrounds.
Throughout October, SCF cafeterias will offer special Hispanic recipes on their daily menus. All three SCF Libraries will feature book displays highlighting works by Hispanic creators and resources on diverse Hispanic and Latin American cultures within the United States.
Public screens at SCF will show films, documentaries, and trivia related to Hispanic culture, history, and notable figures.
