Strong Storm Threatens Inland Taylor, Lafayette, Dixie Counties

A strong thunderstorm is moving through Inland Taylor, Lafayette, and Inland Dixie counties, bringing wind gusts up to 40 mph. Seek shelter indoors until 11:45 PM EDT.

Residents in Inland Taylor, Lafayette, and Inland Dixie counties should seek shelter indoors due to a strong thunderstorm moving through the area. The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a Special Weather Statement, effective immediately until 11:45 PM EDT.

At 11:05 PM EDT, radar indicated a strong thunderstorm located 7 miles northeast of Steinhatchee, moving northeast at 35 mph. This storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 40 mph.

The primary impact will be gusty winds that could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Mayo, Tennille, Cooks Hammock, Hines, Jonesboro, Clara, Grady, San Pedro Junction, and Alton.

If you are outdoors, please consider seeking shelter inside a building for your safety. The statement expires at 11:45 PM EDT tonight.
