Among the new offerings is the print version of the Bountiful Berks Market Guide, which highlights over 250 locations across the county where local food can be purchased.
Residents can pick up a copy of the Bountiful Berks Market Guide at the department's office or at various local retailers. This guide serves as a comprehensive tool for those looking to support local farmers and producers.
Looking ahead, the department is hosting the 2026 Agriculture and Natural Resources Career & Job Fair on November 12th. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Leesport Farmer's Market. This fair is designed to connect individuals with opportunities in the agricultural sector.
For those involved in municipal planning and permitting, an educational roundtable titled "From Planning to Permitting" is scheduled. This event will offer insights into the responsibilities of county agencies within the municipal permitting process. Details on registration and specific dates for this roundtable are available through the department.
The department also noted the recent PA Fruit Grower Freeze Assistance Recovery Grant, which released $10 million in funds to aid those impacted by the April freeze. Additionally, the Berks Ag Resource Networks (BARN) is promoting its B.A.R.N.OPOLY game, encouraging summer agricultural adventures.
The Agricultural Land Preservation Board Public Meetings continue to be held on the last Wednesday of every month at 5:30 PM at the Berks County Agricultural Center. Residents interested in agricultural land preservation, direct marketing, or workforce development can find extensive resources on the department's website, including forms, landowner information, and details about the Growing Berks Ag Study.
